The man who cops say gunned down Young Dolph is in custody … after a manhunt which resulted in his capture.
23-year-old Justin Johnson was taken in by U.S. Marshals Officers Tuesday in Memphis, TN, where he’s wanted on a slew of charges … including first-degree murder.
The U.S. Marshals said that one of the suspects, 23-year-old Justin Johnson, was captured in Indiana on Tuesday, Jan. 11 around 3 p.m.
Three independent sources tell FOX3 Now, the second suspected gunman, Cornelius Smith was also arrested and booked into Shelby County Jail, charged with first-degree murder for a crime that occurred on Nov. 17, the day Young Dolph was killed.
As we reported … cops announced Wednesday Johnson was wanted for murdering Young Dolph … and Johnson went on social media Saturday to announce plans to turn himself in come Monday … which he didn’t do.
Johnson, who claims he is innocent, was on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Most Wanted list … and law enforcement says he has ties to organized crime.
Johnson’s a Memphis-area rapper who goes by the name Straight Drop … and he appears to have shot a music video back in the day at the same home where cops retrieved what they believe is the getaway car used the day Dolph was shot and killed.
