Tom Hanks’ son Chet posts anti-vax rant despite famous parents contracting Covid: ‘Y’ain’t sticking me with that needle!’
Chet Hanks has made headlines once again after he launched a surprising rant against Covid-19 vaccinations, despite his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson famously contracting the virus.
His actor parents were among the first high-profile celebrities to battle Covid when the pandemic took off in March 2020, and the pair were open about their journey to recovery with fans as they encouraged others to be safe.
However, that didn’t stop the pair’s son from publicly denouncing the Covid-19 vaccine as he shared his controversial opinion on social media.
The actor and musician posted a video that initially appeared to show him supporting vaccinations as he stated: ‘I’ve been on the fence about this for awhile, that’s why I never spoke on it.
‘But with the amount of people I know recently that have gotten Covid, and with the numbers rising, I think it’s important for me to say I got the vaccine, I think everybody should.’
Chet continued: ‘It’s really important that we all do this. I suggest to all my followers, you guys, set an appointment and get the vaccine first thing – PSYCH!’
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were one of the first Hollywood celebrities to announce to the world that they were infected with the novel coronavirus on March 11, 2020. They were in Australia to shoot for the actor’s upcoming film, a Baz Luhrmann-directed Elvis Presley biopic. Filming had to be halted due to their diagnosis, and the couple quarantined in Australia while they recovered from the virus. Hanks and Wilson later donated plasma in order to aid research on the virus.
