Taliban take control of Panjshir Valley, Afghan media
KABUL: The Taliban have taken the control of Panjshir Valley capital, Governor House and police headquarters.
According to Afghan media, the Taliban captured the capital of Panjshir Valley, the stronghold of the Northern Alliance. Afghan media say local militia spokesman Fahim Dashti has been killed in the fighting, while the governor’s house and police headquarters are under Taliban control.
Earlier, it was reported that there was a possibility of a ceasefire between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban, and in this regard, the head of the Northern Alliance, Ahmed Masood, also expressed conditional readiness to negotiate with the Taliban.
