Queens man stabs, kills brother Sean Sarker who tried to resolve family conflict

A Queens man was stabbed to death by his older brother inside of his home Friday afternoon, police and sources said.

Officers found Sean Sarker, 21, with stab wounds to the neck and shoulder at his home on 74th Street in Elmhurst around 2:20 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The argument between a mother and her son in Queens came to a head when his brother intervened Friday, resulting in the brother’s death and the mother’s arrest.

A woman and her 24-year-old son got into the fatal disagreement inside their apartment on 74th St. near 45th Ave. in Elmhurst about 2:20 p.m.

The mother’s argument with her son turned violent when her older son, Sean Sarker, 21, attempted to intervene. He was stabbed in the neck and shoulder.

Neighbor Asta Bharati watched as medics carried the mortally wounded brother from the apartment on the quiet residential block.

“They carried him out unconscious,” said Bharati, 22. “He was bleeding a lot. They were giving him CPR, but he wasn’t moving or anything when they put him in the ambulance.”

He was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

A 24-year-old-man, who police sources said was Sarker’s brother, was arrested at the scene.

Charges against the suspect were pending Friday night.
