As the search for Brain Laundrie continues, North Port Police are joined by the FBI, the Florida Wildlife Commission and officers from Sarasota County, Lee County, Charlotte County and Venice.
The officers will return to Carlton Reserve, but this time, police say they will be moving in from the Venice side of the area.
Police also described the “dangerous” condition in the flooded swamp area.
“The Carlton Reserve is a vast and unforgiving location at times,” a North Port Police spokesperson told reporters. “It is currently [waist] deep in water in many areas. This is dangerous work for the search crews as they are wading through gator and snake-infested swamps and flooded hiking and biking trails.”
