Olympics Star Suni Lee To Compete In Dancing With The Stars

Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast Suni Lee To Join ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Suni Lee, the women’s gymnastics champion and breakout star of the Tokyo Olympics, will appear on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, a reality show that pits celebrities and their professional dancer partners against each other in ballroom dancing.

“I’m so excited,” the 18-year-old gymnast said. “See you all on the dance floor!”

Unclear who will be in the rest of the field dancing against the Olympian — the full lineup is expected to be announced next month — but ya gotta figure the gymnast will be a big favorite to win The Mirrorball Trophy.

After all, she KILLED IT in Tokyo … winning the gold medal in the all-around competition, silver in the women’s team competition and bronze in the uneven bars.

Lee was the surprise breakout star of the Games, narrowly winning the all-around gold medal for women’s gymnastics after favorite Simone Biles dropped out over her mental health. “It’s so surreal because I never thought I could be an Olympic champion, and here I am,” Lee told the Washington Post last month. “I feel like there are going to be so many more opportunities that come with this.” Lee also won a silver medal in the team event and bronze on uneven bars at the Tokyo Games. Lee, unlike her predecessors, did not have to choose between professional ventures and competing in gymnastics at the university level, thanks to new NCAA guidelines that allow athletes to profit off their name, image and likeness without losing college eligibility.

The dance-off starts Sept. 20 … good luck!
