“The Family Man” is going to be a dad again.
Nicolas Cage and his wife, Riko Shibata, are having a baby, the actor’s rep confirmed on Thursday.
“The parents-to-be are elated!” the publicist also told People. A due date or sex was not announced.
This will be Shibata’s first child.
The Kick-Ass actor has son Weston Coppola Cage, 31, with ex Christina Fulton and son Kal-El, 16, with ex-wife Alice Kim.
Caga and Shibata met in Japan in 2020 when he was filming Sion Sono’s Prisoners Of Ghostland. She landed a role in the movie playing one of the four Mannequin Women.
After getting engaged on FaceTime, the couple tied the knot at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in February 2021.
Cage confirmed the wedding at the time and said the couple were enjoying newly-wedded bliss.
“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” he said on his brother Marc Coppola’s podcast in August 2020.
“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said, ”Look, I wanna marry you” and we got engaged on FaceTime.”
A few months after tying the knot, the newlyweds made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Cage’s film, “Pig,” at the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles.
They then made another rare red carpet appearance at the 2021 GQ Men of the Year party in West Hollywood in November.
