Man killed his kids with spear gun because of QAnon conspiracy theories, Could Face Death Penalty

California dad killed his kids over QAnon and ‘serpent DNA’ conspiracy theories, feds claim

UPDATE 9/9/2021 ——————————————

Matthew Taylor Coleman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for taking his two children to Rosarito in Mexico and killing them.

He faces two counts of foreign first-degree murder of United States nationals.

By law, the charges are eligible for the death penalty; the Attorney General must now decide whether or not to seek execution.

“There are no words to describe the profound grief that envelops an entire community when a child is murdered,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman. “The Department of Justice is determined to achieve justice for these victims and their loved ones.”

“The murder of a child is difficult to understand under any circumstances” added Kristi K. Johnson, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. “I’m proud of the quick investigative efforts by FBI Agents, the Santa Barbara Police Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and our Mexican counterparts which led to the arrest of Mr. Coleman as he entered the United States, and I look forward to delivering justice for the young victims and their family.”

Coleman is expected to make his initial court appearance on Thursday at the U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles. The case will be prosecuted at the U.S. District Court in San Diego.

ORIGINAL STORY 8/12/2021 —————————————-

Authorities say Matthew Taylor Coleman confessed to murdering his two young children in Mexico and told investigators he thought they would “grow into monsters.”

A California surfing school owner who was charged with killing his two children in Mexico is a follower of QAnon and Illuminati conspiracy theories who thought the children “were going to grow into monsters so he had to kill them,” federal officials alleged.

Matthew Taylor Coleman, 40, was charged Wednesday with foreign murder of U.S. nationals in connection with the death of his 2-year-old son and his 10-month-old daughter, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. Authorities said Coleman confessed to the killings and told the FBI that he used a spear fishing gun to stab them.

Prosecutors say Coleman drove them from Santa Barbara to Mexico over the weekend and killed them on Monday. Coleman told an FBI agent that he had been “enlightened” by conspiracy theories and received visions telling him his wife possessed serpent DNA and had passed it on to his kids, the affidavit stated.

He was detained at a San Diego border checkpoint on the way back. KEYT reported he was tracked down using a locator app on his phone.

The children’s mother, identified in reports only as A.C., said the father and the children left Saturday in the family’s van. She did not know where they were going and called the police when she could not reach him.
