Laura Osnes fired from show for not being vaccinated

Hallmark Star Laura Osnes Lost Job Over Vaccination Status

Broadway actress Laura Osnes has reportedly been fired from an upcoming show due to her alleged refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The Tony-nominated star, 35, was set to perform in a one-night production of Crazy For You on August 29 but has subsequently been replaced, Page Six reports.

The theatre at the East Hampton’s Hild Hall has implemented a strict rule that staff and performers must be vaccinated, or return a negative COVID test.

The outlet is reporting Osnes replied “vaguely” when questioned about her vaccine status.

Osnes reportedly “revealed that she hadn’t been vaccinated, and announced that she doesn’t trust the jabs” in response to her co-star Tony Yazbeck.

“We have a requirement now along the lines of what Actors’ Equity is requiring, and what Broadway is requiring, for performances,” the theatre’s artistic director, Josh Gladstone, told Page Six.

“We’re sorry not to have Laura on this, [and] we will look forward to working with Laura again. We are concerned about maintaining the safety of our staff and our audiences.”

Meanwhile, a representative from the Guild Hall said of its policy: “Performers have the option to provide proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID test result.” The rep also confirmed Osnes has exited the show, without offering more detail.

The actress hasn’t yet responded to the news of her departure.
