‘Modern Family’s Julie Bowen Helped Rescue Woman Who Fainted In Utah National Park
A hiker from New Jersey was on her way to see the Delicate Arch in Utah when she felt something amiss. Minnie John felt lightheaded and dehydrated after making it to the top. She sat on a rock to rest and before she knew it, she fell face forward to the ground. Among those who rushed to her aid was actress Julie Bowen from Modern Family and her sister, Dr Annie Luetkemeyer. With electrolytes, medicines and pretzels, Dr Luetkemeyer, who is an infectious disease specialist, tended to Ms John right away.
“All I remember is sitting there with my head in my hands secure on the rock. Next thing I hear someone with a familiar voice kept asking me questions. I wondered if i might be watching tv,” John shared in a recent Facebook post. “My eyes were closed and they said I will be fine and they were cleaning my face and bandaging me up. I heard that familiar voice saying I am going to be ok, a doctor is cleaning me up.”

John went on to call the Bowens “God sent.” Upon eating the peanut butter pretzels the sisters offered her, she realized that she fainted due to low blood sugar and dehydration, as she is diabetic and hadn’t eaten much by 7 p.m. when her fall happened. “I told my Samaritans that I was so proud of what I had achieved climbing to the top,” John wrote. “Had I known it was so treacherous, I would not have done it, but I was so proud I reached the top and got to meet my good Samaritans God sent for me at the right moment.”
