Laundrie family lawyer releases statement after FBI positively identifies Petito body

The Laundrie family’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, was asked what he thought of an autopsy identifying the remains found in Wyoming as those of Ms Petito, and the FBI calling her death a homicide.

“May Gabby Rest In Peace,” he replied, according to Adaure Achumba of 10TampaBay.

The body wasn’t confirmed to be Petito’s until late Tuesday afternoon. A screenshot of text messages posted on Twitter by WTSP reporter Shannon Clowe showed that when asked whether he had any new statements after the confirmation, Bertolino provided the message, notably placing quotation marks before and after the words.
