Ashraf Ghani denies leaving Kabul with cash
Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has denied taking cash from Kabul with him.
Ashraf Ghani has come forward for the first time since leaving Kabul. He termed the allegations of taking cash from Afghanistan as false and baseless.
“After leaving Kabul, I was accused of taking money from the country and other baseless allegations,” the former Afghan president said.
The former Afghan president added that the hosts could ask the country, I have come here empty handed.
“Those who accuse me of selling Afghanistan and fleeing have no information,” he said.
Ashraf Ghani also said that Mullah Omar had also left Kandahar and Amir Abdul Rehman and others had also gone there.
During the talks, he announced his support for former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and former chief executive Abdullah Abdullah’s talks with the Taliban.
“Afghan forces did not lose, we lost in politics, what happened was a political failure of the Taliban and the Afghan government,” he said.
“I was forced to leave Afghanistan with one set of traditional clothes, a vest and the sandals I was wearing,”
